Abogamer, Activist and Scholar.
Law + metaverse
video games +
ethics + policy
= abogamer.
What I do:
Video game policy & the metaverse
I'm known as abogamer, meaning a video game lawyer, specialized in industry policy, trends, and regulation.
Currently, I am an affiliate at the Berkman Klein Center at Harvard, doing research on video game policy, ethics, and immersive technologies for extended reality (XR) , with a focus on the governance of the Metaverse. At BKC, I lead the Video Game Policy Working Group (VGPWG) and its newsletter "This week in the Metaverse!".
Also, I am a public policy advisor at the Argentinean Video Game Developers Association (ADVA).
Artificial Intelligence
Artificial intelligence presents unprecedented challenges where ethics meet practical questions of how AI is designed and implemented.
Benefiting from my background in internet governance, part of my research deals with the ethical and social impact of these technologies, from a multistakeholder standpoint.
My work on an AI governance ethical framework has been the recipient of the Google Policy Fellowship (2017), I have participated in the draft of the Toronto Declaration (2018), and created the first course in Artificial Intelligence and Law in Argentina at Center for Technology and Society, Universidad de San Andres. At their Machine Intelligence Lab, I curate its weekly newsletter.
As an AI expert, I collaborated with the Argentinian government drafting the chapter on ethics and regulation for the National AI Strategy
My current research deals with questions about generative artificial intelligence and copyright, having been featured in the first WIPO AI virtual exhibition.

Advocacy
Public Speaking
Not your typical legal scholar:
The legal profession has changed, and a creative approach is key.
I like to define myself as having the mind of a scholar, the skillset of a lawyer, and the heart of an activist. With a knack for geek culture, of course.

As abogamer you can find me streaming at Twitch, discussing pop culture and tech policy news on YouTube, or podcasting at Spotify. I had the honor of being featured as the face of the global community video of Mass Effect Legendary Edition, my favorite game in the whole universe.
As an advocate for Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI), I am the founder and a current board member of Woman In Games Argentina (WIGAr), a female collective working towards a more inclusive industry, and a Women in Games International (WIGJ) Ambassador.

A seasoned public speaker, I have lectured at international conferences such as More Than Just a Game, RightsCon, MozFest, Internet Freedom Festival; as well as being a correspondent at E3, The Game Awards, GDC, and other industry-related events. You can watch my TEDx Talk here!

As part of my outreach efforts, in 2016 I founded Geekylegal, an initiative focused on engaging people outside academia on topics related to law and tech policy through pop culture.
